This Year in UP, many cases of death were reported from illegal, poisonous and adulterated liquor, recently, 26 people were killed due to poisonous liquor in Raniganj,Barabanki. Since then, the UP government began to crack down on illegal liquor traders. Now the Government has taken another big steps to curb illegal liquor, from now on in the state, action will be taken against those who keep illegal and poisonous liquor, under the NSA and Gangster Act. For this, the Principal Secretary of Excise Department has issued the order in this regard. Zonal Commissioner, District Magistrates and Excise Commissioner of the State have also been instructed to take effective action.
Beer Consumption In Punjab Sets New Record
Principal Secretary Excise Sanjay R. Bhusareddy has directed all the Zonal Commissioner , District Magistrates and Excise Commissioner that in cases of deaths due to illegal liquor action should be taken under the United States Excise Act and National Security Act.
He said that the prosecutions must be effectively registered in cases of public deaths, disability and serious physical damage due to the consumption of toxic liquor.
If a person, is caught twice then instructions have been given to consider the registration of the suit under the Gangster Act and National Security Act . He has instructed the Zonal Commissioners , District Magistrates and Excise Commissioner to effectively prosecute through senior prosecution officers / district government advocates before Special Courts. He said that if any special court has not been formed in any district then be sure to form it immediately in the next coordination committee.
