Those who die due to poisonous liquor are not to be blamed. They are the same kind of consumers, like English ones. If the liquor turns out to be toxic, the winemaker should be punished. But it often happens that the case gets closed and instead of sympathizing with the person who died he is termed as guilty.

Few days back, 21 of the nearly three dozen people who died after drinking poisonous liquor in Ranapar and Jeeyanpur have been given financial assistance of Rs 2.25 lakh by the state government , but in the Mubarakpur area in 2013, 46 people died after consuming poisonous liquor, and their dependents did not even get a single penny.

This is the first special report, on the condition of the people who died in Mubarakpur, and in what situation their relatives are of now.
Pyarerepur Chakia village
In the Pyarerapur Chakia village of Mubarakpur area two people died here due to poisonous liquor, Shivbachan Rajbhar son of Dubbar and Rajkumar Rajbhar son of Balli Rajbhar. Both of them were about 45 years old. Sivabachan was a labourer and has nothing in terms of farming. He left the responsibility of raising five girls and a boy over her widow Urmila. The story of Rajkumar’s widow Kamali is also not different from others.
Naraon Village
The village Naraon, also did not remain untouched by this tragedy. There were four deaths in this village. The first death was of Adiraj Chauhan, 55, son of Muneshwar Chauhan. He was the father of three girls and three boys. By doing wages, he used to fulfill the needs of his family. Second death Chhaddu was 50 years old son of Pillu Chauhan. She has four girls and a boy. He too was a labourer. Rambali Chauhan son of Bijul Chohan was only 18
years old. Like any other family they had also dreams about their child. All their dreams were shattered. Babulal’s son was Faujdar he was 22 years old. He was married a year before the incident. Babulal was running a tea shop in the village and Faujdar was learning furniture work.Its all over. The death of Faujdar had left Babulal in tears. Even after his death, his family had to suffer the excess of liquor mafia as the liquor also belongs to the same village. In order to hide the event of death, these liquor mafia in haste performed the last rites of the people who were dead, because of these goons there was no postmortem done.

Ozhauli village of Mubarakpur
Ozhauli’s Tribhuvan age 55, son of Hardev was the father of four girls and two boys. There were looms in the house. The whole family used to work on looms. Vidyavati widow of Tribhuvan tells that, he told the taste of today’s liquor is very bitter. Tomorrow I will have to scold him that he should not give such a wine. Saying this she was lost in her husband’s memories. Mahendra’s son of Kera of this village was lying on a couch in the verandah of his house. Liquor has completely destroyed his eyes. Mahendra has three girls and two boys.

In all, the people who died due to poisonous liquor were from labour class and today their dependents life is like a hell. Despite this, all the governments till now have not given a single penny to these victims.
