The oldest liquor brewery in the world is in Israel. If that is the case, then Israel must be given the status of originator of liquor. Researchers say that they have found the world’s oldest wine brewery in a cave from prehistoric times near Haifa in Israel, along with 13,000 years old beer items excerpts. This discovery happened in a research on graveyard. It is estimated that this graveyard belongs to nomad predators. It is believed that the process of making beer is 5,000 years old, but the history of beer can change with this new discovery.
Hereditary Genes Behind Liquor Consumption
This discovery also indicates that beer was not only used for making bread, as it was previously thought. Researchers say that they can not say what was firstly produced. The October report of the Journal of Archaeological Science states that beer was made in respect of the dead man ritual ceremony.
Professor Li Liu of Stanford University, who led the research team, told the media that it is the oldest record of man-made liquor in the world. Liu says that she was searching for what people used to eat at that time and what type of trees and plants were there at that time, and during this research, she found excerpts of liquor made from wheat and barley.
George Washington’s Passion for Liquor
These pieces are found in pits of stones, which were 24 inches deep and the pits were curved on the cave’s surface. They were used to keep things and to prepare various types of plants besides pods, oats. This ancient liquor was something like khichdi or daliya, but not the same kind of beer we see today. To compare the kind of beer excerpts they have found, the team of researchers tried to make the same kind of beer. When the process of making beer by mixing various grains started it was almost tasteless in comparison to modern beer.
