Middle-aged men who have been consuming liquor regularly over the years, the risk of memory loss remains high. Although there is no such effect on women This latest information has been received from a new research. This research was done on 5000 British bureaucrats. In the research most of the heavy drinkers were compared to those who consumed liquor normally or those who do not drink at all. According to research, after 10 years of excessive drinking, physical and mental abilities of a person were surely reduced.

It is not surprising that consuming excessive liquor affects the brain, but this research focuses on people of that age who were not included in earlier research. In the earlier research, researchers have given more attention to students and the elderly. The report of researchers has appeared in the Journal of Neurology. The researchers did not show any effect on women, although very few women were involved in this research. Women who drink excessively were included in this research.
Relationship between Liquor and Memory
According to Sevarin Sabia of University College London, who was involved with the researchers, said it is very difficult to predict which level of drinking in men is exactly dangerous for this to happen. She used 20 years of data for this research and made a list of questions for it. Researchers calculated the average daily consumption of liquor by men for 10 years, until they were 56 years old. After that she studied the decline in mental abilities for the next ten years.
Every five years people involved in research were tested. There were 469 men in this group, who were consuming liquor in different quantities. The minimum amount of liquor consumption was 13 ounce or 30 ounces of beer per day, maximum was three times the minimum quantity.

Sara Joe Nixon of Florida University says, men who consume liquor in minimum quantity do not necessarily have the risk of rapid mental decline. Nixon was not involved in this research. Along with this, Nixon says research involves connection between consumption of liquor and rapid mental decline, but there is no evidence that liquor consumption does this. She says that men in their middle ages should pay attention to their habit of drinking.
