Illegal liquor business continues in UP. This is not the first time when people have died due to poisonous liquor. In 2008, poisonous liquor killed 16 people. Here is the data of past few years

32 people were killed in Saharanpur in 2009, 20 in Varanasi in 2010, 40 in Azamgarh in the year 2013, 36 in Lucknow in 2016 and 41 in Eta in 2016.
The Excise Department has the responsibility to stop the sale of toxic liquor. But it has been seen that the courage of the illegal liquor mafia in the state always remains high. In the previous government, 33 people died after drinking poisonous liquor in Unnao and Lucknow. At that time also, it was said that action will be taken but the picture remains the same.
