In the Noida district of Uttar Pradesh, the nefarious game of selling wine at higher rates, began about ten years back . During that time, all the liquor contracts of U.P. belonged to single group. At that time, the contract owner and salesman looted the consumers as wine was being sold, 10 to 20 rupees higher than the print rate, people had openly opposed it but without any result. Later in sucessive Government also wine lovers had to pay more then the print rate, and the Government at that time got stern against this practice but the wine lovers didn’t get the advantage .

The practice of selling liquor at higher rates is continuing as before, In this regard, when we talked to Noida District Excise Officer Rajesh Singh (7007793811) on the telephone, he was just trying to overlook the matter,firstly he denied of any such practices , but when he was informed about the seriousness of the matter, he said that he is sending a inspector to the spot and I should also reach there . In almost every English liquor shop open in Noida and Greater Noida ,10 rupees extra are being charged above print rates and the Uttar Pradesh Police and Excise Department are not doing anything regarding this matter. Therefore people are compelled to shell out more money.
