New Excise Policy Challenged In High Court

The Parent Guardian Association have filed a petition in the High Court against the new excise policy of the state government. Just recently, the new excise policy was approved in the Cabinet meeting of the state government.Aiming to generate more revenue the state government in this new policy , decided to issue occasional licenses for private parties.

The Parent Guardian Association of Kanpur has opposed it, saying that, if legal permission  for bars is given in the marriage parties, people will start drinking openly without any hassle . The Association says that in most of the parties, children also come with their parents and seeing such an environment will have a very bad effect on them.

High Court: Does the Government want to do Drugs Business?

The bench of Chief Justice, Govind Mathur and Justice CD Singh has sought a response from the state government, the state government has sought some time from the High Court for the response, whereon the court has given the next date

.It will be interesting to see what the state government reply is and what the High Court decides on this. The interesting thing is, that the state government has been reprimanded before in this regard from the High Court.
