Illegal liquor businessmen attack police team

Uttarakhand: The illegal liquor traders attacked the police team on Monday. Police broke the distillery of liquor and destroyed two thousand liters of “Lahan” on the spot. Police have registered a case against nine and few other person. Kotwal Sanjay Kumar told that three people have been detained for questioning.

On Monday, under the leadership of SI Manoj Kumar, the police team reached Bharoana to conduct raids on the illegal liquor outlets on the banks of the Khakra Nullah. On seeing the police, people who were involved in illegal liquor fled from the spot. The team here destroyed two thousand liters of ‘Lahan’ and broke the illegal liquor distilleries.Soon after that, about 25 people reached there and they attacked the police team with Sticks and swords. The accused took away illicit liquor with them. Police personnel barely escaped from there and saved their lives.Lawsuit against the residents of Bidaura Kuldeep Singh, Ladi Singh, Jaswant Singh, Baldev, Saraunja resident Ranjit Singh, Dhanpur resident Satpal alias Gujjar, Kulwant alias Kali, Bittu Singh, Makkhan Singh and others were filed under Section 187, 148,353, 332 and under section 60 of excise act .
