Uttar Pradesh Hot Spot for Illegal Liquor Trade

The illegal raw liquor business is increasing in the state. It is becoming the largest cottage industry in the state. Illegal liquor kiln operators are delivering illegal liquor to their chosen customers through phone calls. Involvement of the police and excise department is visible in this illegal business. Due to this illegal trade, the state government every year is losing revenue of billions of rupees . According to the figures, ten thousand raw liquor kilns are running illegaly in the entire state. The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also said about making strict laws for illegal liquor sellers which is essential in the public interest. Now we have to see how long it will take to implement this strict law.



In most of the state’s districts, illegal liquor kiln are growing like cottage industries, in the settlements, sugarcane fields and villages nearby forests.People engaged in this business are getting rich, but people drinking raw alcohol are often becoming victims of untimely death.These people sometimes lose their lives due to alcohol becoming poisonous. Similar incident happened in Kushinagar and Azamgarh a few days ago, where dozens of people had lost their lives after drinking raw liquor. The role of the police and excise department in this illegal business is questionable. The law for illegal liquor business is such that whoever goes to jail in the Excise Act, gets bailed out quickly. What is interesting is that even when a man who runs these illegal raw liquor business goes to jail, his business is not closed, women of these people’s house take care of the business.
