In the first six months of this financial year, the highest number of 61.64 lakh bottles of English liquor were sold in the capital Lucknow. Kanpur was placed second. In the initial six months, 47.91 lakh bottles of English liquor were sold in Kanpur Nagar. Similarly Agra is third in the case of English Liquor. Here, 47.56 lakh bottles were sold in this period. However, zone wise, Meerut Zone is at the forefront in the sale of English liquor and beer, but Lucknow Zone is ahead in the case of domestic liquor.
Country Liquor fans in Kanpur
The people in Kanpur city are fond of country liquor. This is the reason that in the initial six months of this Excise year (April to September 2018), maximum 103.72 lakh liters of liquor was consumed. In the case of domestic liquor, the city of Nawabs Lucknow is in second place. During this period, 99.69 lakh liters of domestic liquor was sold in Lucknow. In the case of country liquor, Gorakhpur district remained number three, where during this period the consumption of liquor was 69.88 lakh liters.
Lucknow Number One in Beer Consumption
The excise department figures show that most beer-consuming people are in Lucknow. In the first six months, people of Lucknow bought 135.86 lakh bottles of beer. 106.01 lakh bottles of beer were sold in Agra. With the sale of 100.76 lakh bottles of beer, Ghaziabad at third and with sale of 97.92 lakh bottles Gautam Buddha Nagar at number four. Excise Minister Jai Pratap Singh informed that according to the calculation of country liquor is in liters, English liquor and beer is calculated on the basis of 750 ml bottle.
