Bahraich: In Gangapur village of Thana Rhesia area, illegal liquor outlets are running openly, which are not beyond the information of the police, and more so illegal liquor made is sold to the local people. When Hari Ram Chauhan of this village opposed this business of illegal liquor, the henchmen of the entire district liquor mafia attacked Gangapur village to finish of the protest and killed Hariram Chauhan.Deceased Hariram pregnant daughter in law was beaten mercilessly she was admitted to the hospital in critical condition.

The villagers who protested against the act of voilence were also beaten up by the henchmen of liquor syndicate . About 8 to 10 people are seriously injured, who are undergoing treatment , So far due to police inaction and no arrest in this particular case, there has been outcry in the entire Bahraich district.Due to police protection to illegal liquor trade there is outrage among local people.
On receiving the information about the incident, National President of Nagrik Ekta Party Mohammed Shamim Khan accompanied by his state office bearers reached Bahraich from Lucknow and alongwith party office-bearers and workers met families of the victims and police officers. Mr. Khan said that the criminals should be arrested immediately and the police personnel who patronized the liquor mafia should be suspended. He also demanded from the government compensation of Rs.50 lakhs to the relatives of the deceased, pregnant daughter in law of the deceased who is in critical condition and all the villagers who were critically injured should be given free treatment and due compensation.Nagrik Ekta Party activists raised slogans against police and district administration. Mr. Khan cautioned the government that within a week, in case of non-payment of compensation to the dead families and the injured, and in case of no arrest of criminals, Nagrik Ekta Party will launch statewide agitation.
