The city of Unnao, which is situated between Kanpur and Lucknow is famous for its leather industry, and this time around, liquor surely is an election issue here. Unnao has witnessed many major spurious liquor scams, in which dozens have died. Despite the police crackdown, the liquor industry is flourishing in the villages, and is growing day by day.

Mohaan, which is part of this parliamentary constituency, is named after Hasrat Mohani, famous for his slogan ‘Inquilab Zindabad’, this place is also famous for cultivation of mangoes. Rajkishore, a farmer of Adampur Barethi village has mango orchards on 30 bighas of land. He said that the farmers are not getting the right market, and there is lot of hard work in cultivation. The yield is good, but the market prices are not good enough. Mango farmers have been given some relief, but there are many things still to be done. Need a nice market here .

In this parliamentary area, is Bangarmau assembly segment, adjacent to the Lucknow-Agra Expressway, where Santosh of Ganj Moradabad has opened a paan outlet, here some people were discussing elections. The fate of the leaders was being assessed. Santosh said, the Express-Way is not much of a advantage for the people living in the surrounding area. Apart from this, no arrangements have been made to catch those who drink and drive on this Express Way. This is main reason behind the accidents.

Munna Singh, living in the Bhagwantnagar assembly constituency, says that Dondiyakhera was in the headlines for gold excavation in 2013-14. The eyes of the media around the world were on Dondiyakheda. Rinku, who runs a tea shop outside this temple, said that illegal liquor is made in most of the villages including Asarenda, Dirgpalganj, Bathua Shahpur, Ranjitkheda, and Janwarankheda. The cause of concern is that the young ones are getting addicted to liquor. The police are not able to curb this. This illegal trade is being done in collusion with the police. We will vote for a person, who will stop the illegal trade of liquor from this area.
