Following the continuous information, the Excise Department raided the English liquor shop in the village, where the salesman was caught red handed while packing illegal liquor with a companion. Excess liquor was recovered from the stock, adding to confusion by late evening, the excise team was not able to reach the Kotwali and the CUG phones were also switched off.

According to eyewitnesses, at 11 o’clock in the afternoon, the Excise team found the shutters of the English liquor shop located at pasema road closed . Inspector Arvind Shukla, who was leading the team called on the police on the spot and opened the shutter, and caught the salesman from Tilshada village and another young man red handed. The team has recovered more quantity of liquor from the spot than recorded in the store stock register .The team has loaded many boxes of adulterated liquor, lid and chemicals in their vehicles and took the salesman and his companion along with them.

Late in the night, inspector Ravi Shrivastav informed that the excise team did not reach the police station for lodging complain. Attempts to contact, regional excise officer Arvind Shukla and the District Excise Officer turned futile as there phones were switched off. Deputy Excise Commissioner SS Mishra confirmed the submission of raid on many places including Bhitargaon. But on the question of team not reaching Kotwali for lodging the case, he informed about the other provisions in the Excise Act, and said that if found guilty, punitive action will be taken against the licence holder.
