Illegal Liquor- U.P Excise And Police Team Attacked

Yet again Excise department and Police department failure has come up in Balai village adjacent to the Nepal border of Bahraich district. In the Balai village of Motipur Police Station area, fake and Nepali liquor business has flourished more or less like a cottage industry. After the strictness of the state government, when the officers took action, this angered the villagers. Angered over the Excise Department action, which provided protection first, villagers damaged many government vehicles. Under the excise Act police registered a case against 9 people, involved in illegal liquor trade, and sent them to jail.

Fake liquor business in every Household

In the Ramnagar tehsil area of Barabanki district, when the number of deaths increased due to consumption of spurious liquor, there were question raised on the working style of the state government. After the strictness of the government, the officers of Excise Department reached Balai village for action. The truth that came out from there was quite surprising. In this village, the sale of fake and Nepali liquor was carried out, more or less from every household, 40 houses were searched, in which 35 illegal liquor breweries were found in running condition. About 10 thousand liters of raw material was destroyed.

Angry Villagers
The villagers were angry over the action and attacked the excise team, Excise officers who came to the rescue called up additional police force, and took strong action. During the search, fake and Nepali liquor was recovered from the fridge kept in the houses. In operation 510 vial Nepalese Karnali liquor, 4 beer, 11container, 150 liters of raw liquor was recovered. SHO Motipur Manoj Mishra said that a case has been registered against the accused including Balai village resident, Badal Tharu, Sagar, Ramesh Chandra, Ganga, Samana, Balas, Anita, Devarani and Madhkia, and Pyare Lal.

People of Balai village gave a complaint letter to BJP MP Akshaybar Lal Gond alleging that the Excise and Police team had damaged the goods by entering into the homes of people in search of illegal liquor. They also alleged that team behavior towards women was indecent. The villagers have demanded action in the case. The market was closed in Balai village on Sunday against the raids of excise and police teams.
