Shahid Kapoor, who is preparing for his forthcoming film ‘Kabir Singh’, is facing criticism about the bold use of liquor and cigarettes in his film. He explained that the use of liquor and cigarettes is only to tell the pain of the story’s character. Shahid says that the audience should not be attracted towards these things.
Recently, Shahid launched the trailer of the film alongside actress Kiara Advani. This movie is the Hindi remake of the Telugu film Arjun Reddy. The film is known for its use of liquor, drugs, cigarettes and indecent language. Although it was said that what is being shown is as per the background of the story and nothing is wrong.

Talking about his character Shahid said, this is a very special movie. It’s straight from the heart. I think the best films are those that connects directly with the heart. Kabir Singh is the story of a deep and beautiful love and please do not be attracted to the fact that things like liquor, cigarettes have been shown in the film. He said, sometimes to show the pain that a person passes through, some things are needed to be used, to help the viewers understand and there is a lot of honesty in the film. Shahid said that his character is being constantly compared with that of ‘Udta Punjab’ and ‘Haider’, although the role of Kabir Singh is very different from the characters I have played before. Kabir Singh has been directed by Sandeep Vanga and will be released on 21st June.
