On Friday midnight, unknown miscreants looted six and a half thousand rupees and 117 cartoons of liquor, from a country liquor store located on the road of Rajadepur-Masona village under Jeanpur Kotwali area of Azamgarh district. Salesman immediately informed dial -100 police. People of the Dial-100 reached the spot and took him to Kotwali. Contractors also reached Kotwali at the salesman’s notice. A complaint has also been given to Kotwali on behalf of the contractor but its a different matter that the case has not been registered by the police as yet.

Shyamlal, son of Ramlakhan Ram, is the owner of the liquor store located on the road near Razadepur Masona village under Jeanpur Kotwali. Shyamlal has alleged in his complaint that on Friday night, at around half past one, five to seven unknown miscreants went to the shop and demanded liquor from the salesman. On denying them liquor, the miscreants attempted to break the cement sheet of the shop with bamboo stick and tried to enter the shop. The frightened salesman opened the shop. As soon as the shop was opened, the miscreants attacked the salesman and beat him till he was half dead. At the same time looted, 117 cartoons of liquor worth rupees two lakh 28 thousand and six and a half thousand in cash. The case has not been filed till the news was written.
Police Suspicious
The police of Jeanpur Kotwali are treating this case as suspicious. When we talked to Jeanpur Kotwali in-charge in this regard, he said that if there had been a case of robbery, then the people in neighborhood certainly would have some clue about the incident. On the contrary there was no movement of any kind. He said that this story of loot appears to be fabricated by salesmen. Right now the matter is being investigated and the truth will soon come out.
