The demand for foreign single malt whiskey in India has increased by about five and a half times in 2018. Until few years ago, only 23.1 million bottles of foreign single malt were imported every year in India, it has increased to about 112.6 million bottles last year. But due to Brexit import will surely be affected.
Will there be any effect on the import of liquor due to brexit. Experts believe that it can have adverse effects. However, UK has got rid of the brexit for a while now. British tax department HMRC data shows that in 2018 demand for whiskey has increased in India, France and the US. All the people associated with the industry are upset due to brexit, what will be the terms of the import export after the brexit and how will they trade. Liquor producing companies are also upset due to this.

The reason for this is the growing demand for single malt whiskey. The demand for single malt whiskey in India has been tremendous, from 23.1 million bottles it has increased to 112.6 million bottles in 2018. Similarly, countries such as France and America, which are known for their scotch consumption, there have been increase of 9.4 million bottles in import of single malt. But downfall in import of 10 million bottles in Germany and 4.5 million bottles in Spain was reported. The scribes of the Scotch Whiskey Association say that it is fine that the demand for single malt is increasing day by day but it should not be considered too easy to celebrate happiness.

The people of this association say that the Brexit deal should not be separated without the deal, unless the rules for the trade are formally prepared. If this does not happen and Brexit is implemented, then the import of single malt will be affected immediately and the liquor industry will go into deficit. A new market like India will be finished completely.
