Anti-Baldness Drug Reduces Temptation Towards Alcohol

Another advantage of hair loss reduction medicine for men has surfaced. A recent study suggests that consumption of this medicine not only reduces attraction towards liquor but sex also. Michael S. Irvig, a researcher from the George Washington University of Medicines and Health Sciences, found that men who were consuming finasteride (Propecia) not only suffered from sexual side effects, but also were disinterested towards liquor.

This is the first study of its kind, in which efforts have been made to ascertain the relation of the medicine used to stop hair loss and the consumption of liquor.

This medicine reduces the stimulation of neuprotherride a major hormone in the brain. Principal researcher Doctor Irving says that this is an early report, and it will take time to get more information about other effects on the human brain. However, he had stopped using this drug after three months.

Irving in his studies, included 83  men those who had sexual side-effects, due to finasteride , and at the same time 63 men who used to take liquor once in a week before starting this medicine,and it was found that 65 percent of them, that is 41 men, liquor consumption reduced drastically even after abstaining from medication.
