To drink or to cater drink is not a crime. It is a crime to get conscious after drinking.
These lines are perfect on Azamgarh. In places like Goa and Nepal, were people can drink openly anywhere on the streets, in the same way, bars are running openly on the sidewalks of Azamgarh. Whichever government may be in the province, it is not able to eliminate such kind of practices. The reason is that if the people drinking on the road side are from weaker sections, then there is no shortage of people who do this with their long luxury cars. This is the reason that if a police officer ever tried to destroy this empire, then he is shunted out of the district. In these conditions, nobody dares to challenge these kind of practices.

At dusk all streets of the roadways area, in the heart of Azamgarh city, seem to be engaged in these kind of illegal practices. Nonveg shops are decorated everywhere. There are also arrangements for water, glass etc. on these shops. Apart from this, in the evening the drinking season starts at the small hotels and even in some permanent shops. In the midst of the lightning lights, the tone of the faltering voices can be heard. There is a similar view on the city’s railway station road too. These two places were mentioned only because they are very crowded areas. When the police could not eliminate this in these areas, how would they eliminate it in other places? The fact is that wherever there are liquor shops in the city, this is the situation. The situation is no different in the rural areas of the district.
It is not that there is no drinking place in Azamgarh
It’s not like this , that there are no good joints for drinking in Azamgarh , therefore people stand
and openly drink on the streets. In the heart of Azamgarh city, the Trupti model shop and restaurant in Radopur is old enough. There are all the arrangements here and the model shop is also is not too expensive. Similarly, there is Santusti model shop in Junaidganj. The charges for facilities in this model shop are also average. Apart from this, the city’s prestigious Hotel Gangotri has opened the bar within the hotel for the upper class people.Despite all this, people like to openly drink alcohol on the streets.
Socialism is seen in drinking on the road
Talking to some well to do wine lovers who drink on the streets, they surprisingly said, that Azamgarh is the stronghold of socialists. Poor people drink on the sidewalk, and when rich people dine and wine with them on the road, it clearly reflects the socialist character of Azamgarh. As well as standing on the road, and drinking is very pleasurable.
