The campaign was started by the administration in Ghola village of Malihabad on Thursday evening against the people who are involved in raw liquor trade. A young man named Prem has been arrested . The campaign could have been more effective if the information of this campaign was not shared with the illegal liquor traders. Ghola village is known for making raw liquor because for the people here it is like a cottage industry.

What is the case-
On Thursday evening, a team from the Malihabad and Excise Police raided liquor smuggler Prem Rawat and confiscated 110 liters of raw liquor. He was arrested and handed over to the police.Malihabad police is now patting themselves by sending him to jail. Many other businessmen from this village, who are involved in illegal liquor trade, are still out of the reach of the police and excise department team.According to sources, during the raids, those businessmen were informed in advance of the raids. Gholas and Auliya Kheda of the Malihabad region are two such famous villages, where each every house is involved in maufacturing and selling raw liquor. After the January 9 incident, the district administration started awareness campaign which resulted in controlling of the raw liquor trade in Ghola village to some extent . Sources say that many liquor traders were engaged in the manufacture and sale of liquor at the time of the raid on Thursday evening, but before the raid they got the information and they escaped.
During the raids, a businessman, Prem Rawat, was caught by the Excise Police and handed over to the Malihabad Police.110 liters of raw liquor and wine making equipment have been recovered from the possession of Prem Rawat. The police team had received huge amount of ‘Lahan’ from the spot, which was destroyed at the same place. Seeing so many devices for making liquor, it can be estimated how big was the liquor trade operated from here.
