The Yogi government , for the Kumbh to be held in Prayagraj, is giving priority to such policemen who keep away from meat and alcohol and possesses a good character. During the ongoing training of salaried and non salaried officers of civil defence, a video of dancing and drinking got viral.
According to the information,officials of several districts were staying in a hotel in Prayagraj were in a room they danced after drinking. It was an embarrassment for Civil Defence department after the video got viral on social media.
DIG KP Singh of Kumbh Mela had said that a letter was sent to SSP Bareilly, Badayun, Shahjahanpur and Pilibhit asking for the character certificate of those policemen who applied for duty in the Kumbh Mela. The department wanted only vegetarians, non-drinkers and soft spoken policemen, who would be put in duty for Kumbh Mela.
